Meet  Katie

My interests in yoga starting when I was around 14 years old. I was drawn to meditation before I ever stepped into the physical practice of yoga. In fact I wouldn't take a step onto a yoga mat until 6 years later. I was looking for something deeper to heal from depression, anxiety & panic attacks. I felt lost & constantly spiraling with my mental health. It was much later that I came to understand my symptoms as being that of CPTSD. Over a decade of my practice has led me towards post traumatic growth & my interests in Trauma have never stopped drawing me in.

In 2022 I embarked on my path towards becoming accredited with Trauma Therapy Manchester to work specifically with Trauma Symptoms through yoga & supporting others towards befriending the nervous system. It was here where I found a deeper connection to my growth & understanding of how to move through flashbacks & trauma responses. It changed my life & I gained a sense of security I'd never experienced before.

 

Through co-regulation I'll help to guide you back to a sense of safety in present awareness, allowing your natural healing responses to lead towards post traumatic growth. 

Alongside Trauma Informed Yoga, I offer a therapeutic approach to wellbeing & continue to further my training towards a therapeutic specialist with Yoga Medicine & Somatic Experiencing®. It's through this lens I hope to bring about a person centred approach to aid in your area of growth.

somatic  trauma  healing

Trauma Informed Yoga offers a body based somatic approach to healing from Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Pain & other symptoms of Trauma.

Trauma & stress can be seen as one continuous scale. Through Trauma Informed Yoga, we find safety together to allow the nervous system to find stability. It is particularly useful to work through the somatic responses our bodies move through to help towards building resilience in the nervous sytem and begin to find space to heal.

Therapeutic  Yoga

Therapeutic Yoga takes into consideration your individual wellbeing from a whole person perspective. A full intake allows for us to create a wellbeing plan to help you thrive and can focus on goals or aims that meet your needs. I offer support in implementing recovery plans following injury, aid in recovery for your needs from stress or sports activities to enhance your daily life or performance.

Sessions can be held online or in person at your home.

private  events &  Sound

Group wellbeing sessions are a wonderful way to bring something different into any event. From hen parties, to morning grounding practices before you walk down the aisle or for that special wellbeing weekend. All sessions are tailored to your event and aim for the day and can include a mixture of Hatha/Vinyasa, Yin & Restorative yoga as well as sound baths for a deeper relaxation and full mind & body reset.
